Located in the West County corridor of St. Louis County, it is just south of Highway 40/Interstate 64 in Chesterfied, in the Rockwood School District. Less than one mile from grocery shopping, three strip centers and the Chesterfield (Westfield Shopping Town) Mall, major restaurant chains, Chesterfield YMCA, St. Louis County Library Sachs Branch, and Chesterfield City Center, pool and park.
Originally built by top-quality Miceli Homes in the late seventies, many homes have been updated opening up kitchens, installing wood floors, four season rooms and finishing basement family rooms. Three standard floor plans, ranch, two-story and story-and-half range in size from 2100 to 3000 square feet. Each lot is approximately a third acre.
Part of the Clarkson Woods charm are the neighborhood events. Each year Mike and Dana Tippit sponsor the annual spring garage sale and Salvation Army pick-up of unsold items.
The Fourth of July neighborhood parade is a subdivision favorite. Kids decorate their bikes, trikes, wagons, pets and scooters. Mike and Dana Tippit provide beverages for the after parade party of games, ice cream and socializing.
Each early August, Mike and Dana Tippit sponsor the National Night Out Block party joining the nation's neighborhoods taking a "bite out of crime". Residents gather with lawn chairs to visit and enjoy local merchant's treats and give-aways. McGruff the Crime dog and the Chesterfield Police Department hand out badges and trading cards to children.
Knowing your neighbors and looking out for each other is the main force behind crime and drug prevention. The National Night Out program is designed to encourage people to lock their doors and come out to meet their neighbors. This national program is sponsored by law enforcement organizations throughout the country and encourages neighborhoods to be proactive in knowing their neighbors and reporting any suspicious activity.
Our subdivision joins communities throughout the country celebrating National Night OUt. In 2006, the R & B party band the “E.R.
